Yu Dou

Overview

Yu Dou (余斗), frequently referred to as Dao's Second (道老二) or the Second Headmaster (二掌教), is the second direct disciple of the Dao Ancestor (道祖). He serves as one of the rotating rulers of Bai Yujing (白玉京), the supreme Daoist institution that governs the Qingming Heaven (青冥天下).

Widely known across the world by his moniker "True Invincible" (真无敌), Yu Dou is an overwhelmingly powerful 14th-Realm entity. Unlike his carefree junior brother Lu Chen (陆沉) or his reclusive senior brother Kou Ming (寇名), Yu Dou is a fiercely strict, martial-minded Daoist who enforces the golden laws of Bai Yujing with absolute ruthlessness. He represents the overarching, oppressive authority of Bai Yujing, demanding total compliance from all Daoist sects and cultivators within his jurisdiction.

Appearance & Personality

Yu Dou is defined by his uncompromising adherence to the law and his willingness to employ cruel, heavy-handed methods to maintain order. He places the integrity of Daoist rules above all personal relationships.

His rigid and unsentimental nature was most starkly demonstrated when a Dao couple—both of whom were his close friends—violated the laws of Bai Yujing. When one died in the outer heavens and the other survived, Yu Dou did not hesitate to draw his sword and execute the rule-breaker himself. This act earned him the lifelong, violent enmity of the surviving partner, who periodically emerges from seclusion to launch vengeance-fueled assaults against Bai Yujing.

Despite his iron-fisted governance, Yu Dou possesses a unique sense of respect for genuine talent and conviction. Even toward subordinates who rebel against his ideology, he maintains a twisted form of honor, preferring to settle matters with a drink before a life-and-death battle rather than relying on pure malice.

Abilities & Artifacts

• "True Invincible" (真无敌): In the early years of Bai Yujing, Yu Dou was the only high-ranking Daoist official who was not a pure sword cultivator, yet he confidently proclaimed that he could consistently and easily defeat any sword cultivator. This overbearing confidence and unmatched combat prowess earned him the "True Invincible" title, which he wears without needing to boast.
• Daozang (道藏): Yu Dou is the wielder of Daozang, one of the legendary four immortal fairy swords (仙剑) in existence.
• Feather Garment (羽衣): He wears a supreme Daoist feather garment passed down directly to him by the Dao Ancestor.

History & Major Events

The Extraterrestrial Demon Plan

To solve the eternal crisis of the extraterrestrial demons (化外天魔) flooding into the world from the Outer Heavens, Yu Dou formulated a brutal, straightforward plan. He intended to request a formal decree from the Dao Ancestor allowing him to completely refine the entirety of Bai Yujing into his own natal artifact. By combining the physical Bai Yujing, his inner human landscape, the immortal sword Daozang, and the Five Hundred Spiritual Officials, Yu Dou planned to create the ultimate cosmic cage to trap and slaughter every extraterrestrial demon. He calculated that completing this apocalyptic task would earn him enough unparalleled merit to break through to the 15th Realm and become the second Daoist sage after his master.

Imprisoning Zhang Fenghai

When Zhang Fenghai (张风海), the former heir to Yushu City and the brilliant "Little Headmaster" of Bai Yujing, engaged in an irreconcilable ideological conflict with him, Yu Dou did not hesitate to strike. He personally imprisoned Zhang Fenghai in the Yanxia Cave (烟霞洞) of Zhenyue Palace for nearly eight hundred years. Yet, when discussing Zhang's eventual release by the Dao Ancestor, Yu Dou remarked that if Zhang ever dared to return to Bai Yujing, he would gladly invite him for a drink first before engaging in a battle to the death.

Centennial Rule & Outer Heavens

During his current centennial rotation overseeing Bai Yujing, Yu Dou suppressed countless uprisings and maintained the Qingming Heaven under absolute, suffocating order. However, as cosmic crises escalated and his junior brother Lu Chen began stirring up trouble in the Haoran Heaven, Yu Dou was forced to travel to the Outer Heavens (天外天), tasked with holding the line against the demons and cleaning up the colossal messes left behind by his fellow disciples. During this period, he also accepted a promising young Daoist from the Haoran Heaven, Yang Ningxing (杨凝性), as his disciple.
