Overview

At the climax of the multi-year siege by the Wild World, when the sundering of the Sword Qi Great Wall became inevitable, the Eldest Sword Immortal Chen Qingdu executed his final, world-shaking maneuver. Instead of using his unparalleled swordsmanship to slaughter the invading demon armies, Chen Qingdu manifested his towering dharma idol and unleashed a single, heaven-opening strike (一剑开天). This monumental act cleaved open the sky and allowed the core northern section of the wall—now named Feisheng City (飞升城)—to physically detach and ascend toward the newly established Five-Colored Heaven.

The ascension was a meticulously planned contingency. The city's famous mirage market (海市蜃楼), which had been secretly constructed over a long period to serve as an imitation ascension platform, acted as the vanguard "sword tip" for the city's upward trajectory. Observing this, the Tuoyue Mountain Grand Ancestor deliberately chose not to intercept the ascending city. The Grand Ancestor calculated that attempting to completely annihilate Chen Qingdu's heaven-opening strike and the fleeing city would require him to expend too much of the Wild World's mountains, rivers, and fortunes. Furthermore, the population escaping in the ascension consisted primarily of younger, lower-tier sword cultivators, which the Wild World deemed an acceptable loss.

As Feisheng City ascended, the remaining half of the Sword Qi Great Wall fell to the Wild World, and the Tuoyue Mountain Grand Ancestor directly smashed a massive gap into the abandoned ruins. Meanwhile, the ascending young cultivators safely arrived in the Five-Colored Heaven, where Ning Yao quickly broke through to the Jade Pure Realm, becoming the first cultivator to do so in the pristine new world.

Outcome / Consequences

The ascension of Feisheng City successfully preserved the purest lineage and future seeds of the Sword Qi Great Wall from total annihilation at the hands of the Wild World. By relocating to the Five-Colored Heaven, this surviving faction established a powerful, independent domain that guaranteed the continuation of their martial legacy, fundamentally altering the cosmological balance of power and ensuring that the legacy of the sword cultivators would endure for millennia to come.
