Overview

The Defense of the Sword Qi Great Wall was a catastrophic and protracted conflict initiated by the Wild World against the Haoran World's vanguard defense. Orchestrated by the Tuoyue Mountain Grand Ancestor and the mastermind Wenhai Zhou Mi, the invasion force mobilized an unprecedented sixty military tents and the fourteen Throne Great Demons. The Wild World's overarching strategy was one of brutal attrition: deploying millions of lower-tier demons in endless waves to exhaust the spiritual energy, natal flying swords, and lives of the human sword cultivators stationed on the wall.

During this dire period, the young outsider Chen Ping'an was appointed as the Last Hidden Official by the Eldest Sword Immortal, Chen Qingdu. Operating from the Summer Retreat Palace, Chen Ping'an completely overhauled the wall's defensive strategies. Aided by a group of brilliant young sword cultivators—including Lin Junbi, Guo Zhujiu, Xuan Shen, and others—the Hidden Official's lineage meticulously calculated battle merits, optimized sword formations, and directed the flow of combat. By shifting from reckless, heroic individual strikes to highly coordinated, tactical attrition warfare, they significantly minimized human casualties and forced the Wild World to pay an exorbitant price in blood for every inch of ground gained.

Despite the relentless and heroic defense by legendary figures such as Chen Qingdu, Dong Sangeng, Qi Tingji, A Liang, Zuo You, and Lu Zhi, the sheer numerical superiority and relentless pressure of the Wild World eventually overwhelmed the defenders. The Tuoyue Mountain Grand Ancestor directly manifested a towering Dharma idol and repeatedly smashed the wall with his fists. The ancient wall was eventually sundered into two pieces, shattering its ten-thousand-year invincibility and allowing the demon armies to surge through the gap toward the Haoran World.

Outcome / Consequences

While the Sword Qi Great Wall was ultimately broken, the fierce, protracted resistance severely depleted the vanguard forces of the Wild World and disrupted Wenhai Zhou Mi's optimal invasion timeline. This desperate defense bought the Haoran World invaluable years to prepare its defenses. Furthermore, the strategic sundering of the wall allowed half of it—carrying the surviving young sword cultivators and the purest lineage of sword cultivation—to ascend to the newly formed Five-Colored Heaven, preserving their legacy from total annihilation.
