The Wen Temple Conference

Overview

In Jia Chun Year 5, following the stabilization of the southern continents and the departure of the Wild World mastermind Zhou Mi, the Middle Earth Wen Temple organized an unprecedented gathering of the Haoran World's surviving sages, sect leaders, mountain gods, and dynasty monarchs. The conference initially addressed numerous internal post-war issues to consolidate the fractured human domain. Under the guidance of the Confucian sages, the assembly resolved matters such as the elevation of sects, the reorganization of mountain and water deities across the nine continents, the distribution of the four ocean domains, and the opening of new cross-world ferry routes to reward factions that had contributed significantly to the defense of Haoran.

The climax of the conference shifted from internal rebuilding to the ultimate cosmological question: how to deal with the Wild World. Through a massive, world-spanning "Flowers in the Mirror, Moon in the Water" (镜花水月) technique cast by the Sage of Rites (Li Sheng), the Haoran assembly was brought face-to-face with the Wild World's remaining upper-five-tier demons gathered at Tuoyue Mountain. The demon assembly was now nominally led by Fei Ran, the new master of Tuoyue Mountain. The Wild World presented terms for peace, proposing joint control over the Guixu gates and allowing Haoran to establish three academies in the Wild World in exchange for a ceasefire.

As the two worlds stood in a tense standoff, the debate centered on whether to accept the compromise or wage a retaliatory war that could plunge both worlds into further ruin. The turning point arrived when Chen Ping'an, acting as the Last Hidden Official of the Sword Qi Great Wall, firmly broke the hesitation and declared the intent to fight ("那就打"). He stepped forward alongside Li Sheng, and a significant portion of the Haoran assembly—including peak sword immortals, top martial artists, and sages—stepped forward with them. This collective movement cemented the Haoran World's unified resolution to reject the peace terms and invade the Wild World.

Outcome / Consequences

The Wen Temple Conference marked the definitive end of the Haoran World's defensive posture and officially initiated the Counter-Offensive era. By unifying the previously fragmented human domain into a single, cohesive war machine focused on retaliation, the conference set the overarching strategic tone for the next phase of the war. It directly authorized the massive military deployment into the Wild World via the newly established Guixu gates and ferry cities, shifting the battlefield to the demon homeland and striving to secure a permanent peace before Zhou Mi could fully consolidate his power in the ancient heavenly ruins.
