Overview

Feisheng City (飞升城), literally translated as "Ascension City," is the preeminent cultivation faction and independent city-state located at the absolute "center of heaven and earth" (天地中央) within the newly forged Five Colored Heaven (五彩天下). Originally comprising the sprawling city infrastructure of the Sword Qi Great Wall (剑气长城), it ascended to this new world during the apocalyptic Haoran-Manhuang War.

Freed from the millennia-long burden of defending against the Monster Race, Feisheng City has rapidly transitioned from a brutal military outpost into a highly structured, massively powerful sword cultivation alliance. Governed by a formalized Ancestral Hall and boasting the highest concentration of elite sword cultivators in the universe, it maintains absolute hegemony over the Five Colored Heaven, deterring even the powerful Daoist factions of Bai Yujing.

History & Formation

Ascension to the New World

Feisheng City was born from the ultimate sacrifice of the Eldest Sword Immortal, Chen Qingdu, who cleaved the sky to allow the city and its younger generation of sword cultivators to escape the destruction of the Sword Qi Great Wall. Upon arriving in the Five Colored Heaven, the city laid anchor at the geographical and karmic center of the new world.

Establishing the Ancestral Hall

To adapt to their new reality and formalize their governance, the sword cultivators established an Ancestral Hall (祖师堂). In their inaugural meeting, a symbolic new rule proposed by Ning Yao was universally accepted: the most senior member of the Ancestral Hall must personally hand out nine sticks of incense to the city's three primary leaders before proceedings begin. During its initial years, the city heavily relied on a comprehensive manual compiled by the former Hidden Official, Chen Ping'an, which detailed the architecture, governance, and diplomatic strategies of major Haoran sects, allowing the combat-focused sword cultivators to systematically build a functioning empire.

Territory & Expansion

While Feisheng City proper remains the impregnable core, its leadership recognized the need to secure external resources and establish strategic buffer zones across the vast, unclaimed Five Colored Heaven.

• The Four Major Vassal Cities (四大藩属城池): Feisheng City expanded its footprint by establishing four massive "flying territories" (飞地) or vassal cities in the four cardinal directions. These outposts serve as territorial anchors, military checkpoints to verify the identities of foreign cultivators, and commercial hubs.
• The "Sword" Stele Territory: The southern vassal mountain was established to aggressively check the northward expansion of Tongye Continent refugees. At its highest peak, a stele engraved with the character "Sword" (剑) was erected. When a Bai Yujing Daoist named Shan Qing attempted to claim the territory and expel the sword cultivators, Ning Yao arrived and defeated him with a single strike, cementing Feisheng City's absolute territorial sovereignty.

Hierarchy & Leadership

Unlike the old Sword Qi Great Wall, which relied on the absolute dictatorship of Chen Qingdu, Feisheng City operates through a structured division of power, though supreme authority still defaults to absolute martial strength.

• Temporary Hidden Official (暂领隐官): Ning Yao (宁姚). Universally acknowledged as the "First Person of the Five Colored Heaven," she serves as the supreme protector and spiritual leader of the city. Her rapid breakthroughs to the Ascension Realm and beyond serve as the ultimate deterrent against foreign incursions.
• Xingguan Lineage (刑官一脉): Led by the Jade Pu realm sword immortal Qi Shou (齐狩). This branch acts as the city's penal and military arm, responsible for internal discipline, outward expansion, and deploying sword cultivators for experiential combat (such as assassinating rogue deities or exploring dangerous realms).
• Quanfu Lineage (泉府一脉): The city's financial and logistical department, led by Gao Yehou (高野侯). The Quanfu is notorious across the new world for its aggressive, borderline ruthless accumulation of wealth and resources, earning the reputation of "scraping the ground thin" (天高三尺地薄一丈) wherever they go.
• Chief Enshrine (首席供奉): Deng Liang (邓凉). Originally an outsider from the Aiai Continent who served in the Sword Qi Great Wall's Summer Retreat Palace, Deng Liang ascended to the role of Chief Enshrine. He is highly valued for his diplomatic tact, playing a crucial role in recruiting foreign cultivators and managing external relations—a skill most native sword cultivators lack.
• Hidden Protectors: Unbeknownst to most of the city, the reincarnated sword immortal Chen Xi, now living under the name Chen Ji (陈缉), secretly resides within the city as a young boy. He quietly cultivates and observes the new generation, serving as a hidden failsafe for the city's future.
