Haoran Heaven

Overview

The Haoran Heaven (浩然天下), often referred to simply as the Haoran World, is one of the primary realms of existence and the central stage for humanity's civilization and cultivation development. It is governed by the orthodox teachings of the Confucian Temple (文庙) and is characterized by a dense concentration of scholarly, martial, and cultivation providence. For ten thousand years, the realm was shielded from the Monster Race of the Manhuang Heaven (蛮荒天下) by the Sword Qi Great Wall (剑气长城), which was positioned at its southernmost border as an absolute vanguard.

Geography & The Nine Continents

The Haoran Heaven is exceptionally vast, segmented into nine major continents (浩然九洲) surrounded by boundless seas. Each continent possesses its own distinct topography, martial destiny, and dominant cultivation landscape:

• Middle Earth Divine Continent (中土神洲): The absolute center of the Haoran Heaven in both geography and power. It is the headquarters of the Confucian Temple and home to the strongest entities in the world, including the famed "Middle Earth Top Ten" (中土十人), such as the poet-swordsman Bai Ye and the demonic path giant Zheng Juzhong of Baidi City.
• Eastern Aquarius Continent (宝瓶洲): A smaller northern continent originally viewed as a backwater, which rapidly unified under the Great Li Dynasty (大骊王朝) led by National Teacher Cui Chan. It served as the crucial northern bulwark that halted the Manhuang invasion.
• Beiju Luzhou (北俱芦洲): The northernmost continent, famous for its fierce, combative folk customs and an extremely high concentration of straightforward, lethal sword cultivators and pure martial artists.
• Tongye Continent (桐叶洲): A previously prosperous southeastern continent that suffered catastrophic devastation during the Manhuang invasion. Post-war, it became a major site for reconstruction, such as the excavation of a new continental river and the establishment of sects like the Qingping Sword Sect.
• Fuyao Continent (扶摇洲): A southwestern continent that experienced some of the most brutal fighting during the war. It was the site where Bai Ye single-handedly battled multiple Manhuang Throne Great Demons to protect the continent.
• Jinjia Continent (金甲洲): A continent heavily ravaged by the invading forces, where a significant portion of its territory and numerous mountain sects were lost to the Monster Race before the war's tide turned.
• Aiai Continent (皑皑洲): Known for its immense wealth and powerful merchant factions, notably the Liu clan led by the God of Wealth, Liu Jubao.
• Liuxia Continent (流霞洲): A continent renowned for its bountiful natural resources, heavenly materials, and exceptional artifact-refining capabilities.
• Nan Posuo Continent (南婆娑洲): A southern continent heavily influenced by the teachings of the Sub-Sage (亚圣) lineage. It was defended by the pure Confucian scholar Chen Chun'an, who sacrificed his own Dao foundation to hold off the Manhuang forces.

Governance & Factions

The supreme governing authority of the Haoran Heaven is the Confucian Temple (文庙), overseen by the Most Holy Teacher (至圣先师), the Ritual Sage (礼圣), the Sub-Sage (亚圣), and the Wen Sheng / Old Scholar (文圣老秀才).

The Confucian Temple maintains order across the nine continents through a sprawling network of seventy-two Academies (七十二书院), enforcing strict rules upon mountain cultivators to prevent them from indiscriminately interfering with the mortal dynasties below. The Temple dictates the elevation of major sects, the sealing of gods, and the division of water rights (such as the Four Seas Water Lords). To further protect the realm, the true bodies of many Confucian sages sit high in the outer heavens (天外) to suppress the remnants of ancient gods.

History & The Haoran-Manhuang War

For ten millennia, the Haoran Heaven enjoyed relative internal stability, outsourcing its defense to the exiled sword cultivators at the Sword Qi Great Wall. However, when the mastermind Zhou Mi (周密) and the Tuoyue Mountain Great Ancestor breached the wall, half of the Manhuang Heaven's forces flooded into Haoran.

The invasion quickly devastated the Tongye, Fuyao, and Jinjia continents. The Monster Race attempted to push northward to conquer the entire realm. The advance was finally halted at the Eastern Aquarius Continent, where Cui Chan orchestrated a desperate, continent-wide defense that successfully shattered the Monster Race's momentum. During the crisis, the Wen Sheng merged his Dao with three continents (合道三洲) to prevent the landmasses from completely shattering.

Following the repulsion of the invaders, the Haoran Heaven launched a massive counter-offensive. Under the direction of the Confucian Temple, Haoran forces mobilized through four major Guixu (归墟) sea portals—Tianmu (天目), Qingji (黥迹), Shenxiang (神乡), and Rizhui (日坠)—and established forward operating bases and ferries (such as the Dimai, Zouma, and Bingzhu ferries) directly within the Manhuang Heaven to permanently neutralize the threat and reclaim territory.

Notes

• During the post-war era, the Haoran Heaven contributed significantly to the creation and stabilization of the newly formed Five Colored Heaven (五彩天下), establishing a 100-year sealed gate period and allowing the surviving young sword cultivators of the Sword Qi Great Wall to establish Feisheng City there.
• The Haoran Heaven maintains complex, often strained diplomatic and ideological relationships with the Daoist-controlled Qingming Heaven (青冥天下) and the Western Buddhist Realm.
