Luopo Mountain
落The primary faction founded by Chen Ping'an, located in Longquan County. It is the upper sect of the Qingping Sword Sect and the owner of the Lotus Root Blessed Land.
Overview
Luopo Mountain (落魄山) is a prominent immortal sect located in Longquan County of the Dali Empire, formerly part of the Lizhu Grotto-Heaven. Founded and led by the Last Hidden Official of the Great Wall of Sword Qi, Chen Ping'an, the sect is known for its uniquely harmonious atmosphere and diverse membership comprising pure martial artists, sword cultivators, ghosts, and mountain/water spirits. It serves as the upper sect to the Qingping Sword Sect (青萍剑宗) and possesses the Lotus Root Blessed Land (莲藕福地), an upper-grade blessed land.
History / Founding
The foundation of Luopo Mountain began when the Lizhu Grotto-Heaven fell and took root in the Haoran World. Chen Ping'an purchased five mountains—Luopo Mountain, Baolu Mountain, Xiancao Mountain, Caiyun Peak, and Zhenzhu Mountain—from the Dali Empire with the assistance of the saint Ruan Qiong. Chen Ping'an chose Luopo Mountain simply because a bird dropping had coincidentally fallen on the mountain's name on a map he was studying, which he interpreted as a sign of fate from the local mountain deities.
For many years, Chen Ping'an traveled the world as a hands-off Mountain Lord, leaving the daily operations and expansion of the mountain to his Chief Steward, Zhu Lian, and relying on the protective influence of the local Northern Mountain God, Wei Bo. Under Zhu Lian's meticulous management, the faction accumulated massive wealth through inter-continental trade routes and steadily purchased surrounding peaks, turning it into a major landowner in the western mountains of Longquan County.
Luopo Mountain formally established its Ancestral Hall and transitioned into an official sect after Chen Ping'an returned from the Great Wall of Sword Qi. The sect famously made its grand debut to the continent by attending the sect-establishment ceremony of its rival, Zhengyang Mountain, turning the event into a display of Luopo Mountain's overwhelming prowess. Shortly after, the faction successfully petitioned to establish a lower sect, the Qingping Sword Sect, in the Tongye Continent.

Teachings / Doctrine
Unlike other sects in the Haoran World, Luopo Mountain does not enforce rigid, oppressive hierarchy or demand ruthless ambition from its disciples. The overarching doctrine is guided by Chen Ping'an's moral compass: to reason with the world, uphold strict moral boundaries, and act as a good person. The sect allows for immense personal freedom, encouraging cultivators and martial artists to find their own paths provided they do not harm the innocent.
Relationships
Luopo Mountain has cultivated a vast, inter-continental network of alliances built on mutual respect and highly profitable trade routes.
- Allies:
- Piyun Mountain (披云山): Northern Mountain God Wei Bo is Luopo Mountain's closest neighbor and staunchest ally.
- Longquan Sword Sect (龙泉剑宗): Founded by Ruan Qiong, with strong early ties to Chen Ping'an.
- Enemies:
- Zhengyang Mountain (正阳山): A bitter rival due to past grievances. Luopo Mountain publicly humiliated them during their sect-establishment ceremony through a formalized Questioning the Sword (问剑).
